The focus of this page is on Western art history, or the development of art from the Renaissance to Modern Art. Curtis noted a 'curious straight ray' protruding from M87. We used these lines to measure distance, elevation, and width. The most successful of these composers was Christoph Willibald Gluck (1714-1787). Foreign governments and movements may also support a fledgling movement in a nondemocratic context. [By many writers the term is employed in a still narrower sense than this, being used to designate merely the revival of classical art; but this is to depreciate the most important phase of a many-sided development.
